Adam R. Simmons, 20, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 11, 2019. Born in Bay City, Michigan, on December 15th 1998, he was the son of Steven J. and Katherine S. (Strohmer) Simmons of Stewartstown PA. Formerly from West Branch, MI. In addition to his parents, he leaves to cherish his memory two sisters Sarah Marie Simmons and Emily Jo Simmons; paternal grandmother Claudia Simmons and maternal grandparents Jim and Ruth Strohmer; several aunts, uncles, cousins. He was preceded in death by two siblings, his Aunt Mary, Papa Simmons and Grandma Katie. Adam graduated from Neshaminy High School in Langhorne, PA; Class of 2018 and worked at Wolfgang Confectioners in York. He had a passion for volunteer firefighting and attended York County Fire School. He was a volunteer Firefighter at North Hopewell-Winterstown Volunteer Fire Company for 5+ years where he also served as Fire Police and was named “Junior Firefighter of the Year” in 2016. Adam had a strong sense of community service and volunteered at several youth events in the county. He was active in Scouting and went all the way through Weeblos, earning The Arrow of Light Award. Adam was a member of Mason Dixon Clay Busters earning numerous state and local awards. He will be missed by all who knew him. A Celebration of life Service will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at 3pm, with a visitation from 2pm - 3pm at Grace Fellowship Church; 74 E Forrest Ave, Shrewsbury, PA 17363. It is the family's wish to have everyone in attendance show their love to Adam by wearing casual attire or company firefighter t-shirts. Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc., 19 S.
