Alevia "Levie" Marie Males, 95, passed away at The Haven At Springwood, York, on December 11, 2017. Alevia was the daughter of Lawrence Badders and Anna Grove Badders Ring. She was the wife of Charles Winfield Males, Sr, with whom she shared 41 years of marriage. Charlie passed away on April 10, 1985. Alevia and Charles were blessed with 3 boys, James George Monroe Reedy, Dover, Charles Winfield Males, Jr., York New Salem, and William Dennis Males of New Park. In 1990 Earl Wattenschaidt introduced Alevia to the sport of bowling. They spent several enjoyable years together and bowled in a league at Forest Hill Bowling. After Earl's death in 1995 she continued to bowl as it was now her passion. She enjoyed bowling for many years, introducing Earl Ober to this sport. After his death in 2003 Mom continued bowling until she had to give up the sport for health issues in 2007. Mom also enjoyed the companionship at Stewartstown Senior Center for many years. Alevia leaves behind a family that loved her, son, Jim and his wife, Gloria; their daughter, Debra and husband, Rick Gettys; great-granddaughter, Heather and husband, Dan Goebeler, great-great-grandchildren, Nittany and Emelia; great-granddaughter, Danielle and husband, Eric Linebaugh; son, Charles, Jr, and his children, grandsons Lon and great- granddaughter, Tori; granddaughter, Latricia and her husband, Jermaine Brown; great-grandchildren, Jeremy Frey and Esperanza Alverez; son, William and his wife, Carol; their sons, grandson, Michael and companion, Elizabeth; great- granddaughters, Meagan, Cameron and great-grandson, Mark; grandson, Brian and his wife, Tracy and great- grandchildren, Zachary and Abby Rae. Mom, the matriarch of our family, will leave a big hole in our lives at our many family events. Alevia also leaves many nieces and nephews who will miss her and remember her fondly. Mom was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie; and two grandchildren, Darryl Scott Reedy and Mark Slade Males; and great-great- grandchild, Cannon Joseph Goebeler. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Wednesday, January 3, 2018, 11 a.m. at Hartenstein Funeral and Cremation Care Inc., 19 S. Main St., Stewartstown. Officiating will be Pastor Larry W. Parlett. Burial at Stablers Cemetery, Parkton, MD, will be at convenience of family. Her family thanks The Haven at Springwood for care and love they gave Mom for the past three years. Also thanks to Caring Hospice Care of Lancaster and Asana Hospice & Pallapize Care, Harrisburg for their care given to Mom during her last weeks. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be given to the Stewartstown Senior Center, 26 S. Main Street, Stewartstown, PA 17363 in Alevia's name.
