Alma Joyce Purkey

Alma Joyce Purkey, 73, passed from this life surrounded by her family on Friday, April 10, 2020. She was the loving wife of Donald V. Purkey and they would have celebrated 57 years of marriage on May 10. Born in Moorefield, WV, she was the daughter of the late George William Arbogast Sr. and Clarise (Smith) Arbogast. Alma retired as a medical secretary in 2006 from Broadmead, Cockeysville, Maryland. Surviving are two daughters, Melinda D. Purkey and Michele Currey and her husband, Todd, all of Freeland, Maryland; two grandchildren, Joshua Currey and his fiancée, Stacy Rae, and Jeffrey Currey and his companion, Cara Massicot; two brothers, Robert Arbogast and his wife, Terri, and George William Arbogast Jr. and his wife, Teri; and a sister-in-law, Brenda Arbogast. Alma is also survived by her nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, relatives, and friends. Alma was preceded in death by a brother, David Allen Arbogast. Services and interment will be at the convenience of the family. If desired, memorial contributions may be made in Alma’s memory to a charity of your choice.
