Alvin L. "Allie" Jones

Alvin L. "Allie" Jones, 88, died Tuesday, April 19, 2016, at Colonial Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation in York. He was the husband of Jeanelle F. (Rennoll) Jones for 66 years. Public visitation will be from 10 a.m. until a funeral service begins at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 25, at J.J. Hartenstein Mortuary, Inc., 24 N. Second St., New Freedom. Interment will follow in New Freedom Cemetery. The Rev. Melissa A. McDade will officiate. Alvin was born November 26, 1927, in Maryland Line, Md., to the late Chauncey W. and Elva M. (Calp) Jones. He is survived by his wife; one son, Ronald C. and his wife, D. Jamie Jones; two grandchildren, Veronica Gorman and husband, James, and Amanda Buckley; two great-grandchildren, Angelina Jones and Cameron Buckley; three nieces, Barbara D. Elicker, Vickie L. Agnello, and Shelvie M. Zarfos; and one nephew, Steve Hedrick. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Dorothy "Dolly" Hedrick. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory are recommended to the Alzheimer's Association, 2595 Interstate Drive, Suite 100, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
