Andrew R. Bennie

Andrew R. Bennie, 81, passed from this life on Thursday, February 2, 2023. He was the loving husband of Candice Jean (Wiley) Bennie and they celebrated 38 years of marriage. Born in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Andrew Franklin and Anita Ann (Viola) Bennie. Andrew proudly served in the U.S. Army and was recognized as an expert marksman and sharpshooter. He enjoyed dinner and movies with his wife and spending time with family, he loved the outdoors, carpentry, and engaging in conversation with those who crossed his path. He was a true jack of all trades and approached all of his projects creatively with attention to detail. He enjoyed motorcycles and was an avid car enthusiast. He loved his Dewars scotch,  forcing his love of Neil Diamond on his children, and he was always happy and positive.

Surviving in addition to his wife are four children: Yvette Collins; Andrew Bennie and his wife, Pamela Bennie and their children, Taylor, Andrew, and Jordan; Shayne Buchwald-Nickoles and her husband, William Nickoles and their children, Aidan and Kristin; a greatgrandchild, Axelle Kirkendall; and Richard Buchwald Jr. and his wife, Helene and their children, Declan, Finnegan, and Lochlan; and a sister, Andrea Bennie. He was preceded in death by a sister, Toni Loveless.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a visitation from 10 am – 12 pm Thursday, February 9, at Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc., 24 N. 2 ^nd St., New Freedom, Pa 17349 with a memorial service starting at noon with military honors to be rendered by the YCVHG.
