Ann C. Arthurs

Ann C. Arthurs passed away Friday, September 21, at Lorien Assisted Living in Bel Air, MD. She was the loving wife of the late Ronald E. Arthurs. Ann was born in Pittsburgh, PA, to John and Catherine (Woiwode) Trainor. She attended Bethel Park High School where she met her husband, Ron, and graduated in 1951. They were married in 1953 and later moved to Fallston, MD.Ann was employed by the Harford County Public School System for 19 years, with the majority of her years at HCPS, serving as Lead Secretary at Jarrettsville Elementary School.Of her many interests, Ann’s family was the most important thing in her life, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be fondly remembered for her sweet, loving, and giving nature. Ann is survived by three daughters, Sherry Dougherty, Sandy Kappus and husband Jeff, Sr., and Susan Lepera and husband Ken, Sr.; nine grandchildren, Meghan Dougherty, Kristin Murphy, Jeff Kappus, Jr., Frank Dougherty IV, Courtney Shaw, Ron Dougherty, Kelly Kappus, Ken Lepera, Jr., and Abby Lepera; two great grandchildren; a brother, Jack Trainor, and a sister, Marcie Berk. In addition to her husband, Ronald, Ann was preceded in death by her dear sister, Nancy Saunders. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday September 28, 2018, at St. Ignatius Roman Catholic Church, 533 East Jarrettsville Rd., Forest Hill, MD 21050 at 12:00 PM in the historic church.Flowers and memorial contributions in Ann’s memory can be sent to St. Ignatius Catholic Church at the above mentioned address. A celebration of life will follow, after the mass.
