Ann R. Connell

Ann Redding Connell passed away on April 20, 2021. She was the wife of Daniel Connell of New Freedom, PA, and they celebrated their 49th wedding anniversary on July 17, 2020. Born in Pittston, PA, she was the daughter of the late Regina “Gena” and Joseph “Cork” Redding.A graduate of St. Johns High School, she worked in retail, real estate and customer service for MCI and PHH. In addition to her husband, she is survived by daughters, Bridget Jackson of Glen Rock, PA, Heather Karstetter and her husband, Duane of Loganton, PA, and Colleen Kerchner and her husband, Adam of Glen Rock, PA; a sister, Sheila Flaherty and husband, James of Stuart, FL and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was the loving NaniAni to grandsons, Bryce Karstetter, Tanner Jackson, and Hunter Jackson.She was preceded in death by her brother, Joseph “Jerry” Redding, her beloved Aunt Mary Redding, and many other cousins and aunts and uncles. Ann was a charter member of the New Freedom Welcome Wagon, past president of the New Freedom Area Women’s Club, current member of the New Freedom VFW Auxiliary, Pittston Knights of Columbus, and St. John’s Jacquelines.Ann enjoyed going to the Jersey Shore, California, Florida, and Ireland. Father Brian Clark will celebrate a Mass in her honor on a date to be determined. The family will be hosting a gathering to celebrate Ann’s memory on Saturday, May 1 from 2-5 PM at the VFW Post 7012, 123 West Main Street, New Freedom, PA 17349.
