Anna Mable Bankert, 85, of New Freedom, passed away on Friday, August 9, 2024 with her partner of 12 years Clyde Erhart II, by her side.
Born in Parkton, MD, she was the daughter of the late Irvin Clinton and Emma Violet (Cummings) Almony and the wife of the late Dale Richard Bankert. She was also preceded in death by her thirteen brothers and sisters.
Anna is survived by her brother Horace Almony of Glen Rock and several nieces and nephews.
Anna retired from the former FYPON, Stewartstown, in 2005 following 20 years of service. She previously worked for the former Charles G. Summers, Jr., Inc. Canning Factory in New Freedom. She was a member of West Liberty United Methodist Church in White Hall, MD and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Shrewsbury Volunteer Fire Company and Eureka Ambulance Club, Stewartstown.
There will be a viewing on Thursday, August 15, 2024, from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc., 24 N. Second St., New Freedom, PA. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. John C. Dorr, Jr. officiating. Interment will be in West Liberty United Methodist Cemetery.
