Anna Charlotte (Jamison) Brooks, 95, of York, passed away on Friday, November 22, 2024. She was the widow of George O. Brooks who died in 1989 after 41 years of marriage. Anna is survived by her husband, Richard J. Sharrock who she was married to for 18 years. Anna was born on April 4, 1929, near Gatchelville, the third daughter of the late A. Carl and Mary (Gibney) Jamison. She attended the one-room Cedar Valley School and graduated from Fawn Township High School Class of 1946.

Anna was the bookkeeper for George's excavating business for forty years. She was a member of Prospect Church in Gatchelville for 95 years. She faithfully served as organist, choir member, Sunday School teacher, youth director, in Methodist Women, and many other church activities. She was a member of the Stewartstown Fire Company and Ladies Auxiliary. She volunteered at York Hospital, Red Cross, and was a breast cancer survivor and volunteered with American Cancer Society Road to Recovery. She delivered Meals on Wheels and was a member of the Stewartstown Senior Center.

She is survived by a son, G. Richard Brooks of Florida and a daughter, Laurie Ann Snyder and husband, Nelson of York; a granddaughter, Brittany Ann Snyder and husband, Jesse Devinney of New York City, NY; her sisters, Lavina J. Wolfe of Stewartstown, and Norma J. Schrum and husband, Larry of Loganville; and three generations of nieces and nephews. Also surviving are five stepchildren: James Sharrock and wife, Cheryl of New Hampshire, John Sharrock and wife, Anita of Louisiana, Peter Sharrock of Arizona, Dorothy Chaloux and husband, Frank of Vermont, and Matthew Sharrock and wife Barbara of Nevada; eight step grandchildren; and fourteen step great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Mildred Leona Bankert, a brother, Albert C. Jamison, and infant twin sisters, Erma and Verna.

There will be a viewing from 6 - 8 p.m. Friday, November 29 at Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc., 19 S. Main Street, Stewartstown, PA 17363. There will be a second viewing from 10 – 11 a.m. Saturday, November 30 from Prospect Church of Gatchelville, 8 Orchard Road, New Park, PA 17352 with a funeral service beginning at 11 a.m. Burial will be in the adjoining church cemetery.
