Anna Sara (Sally)Hopkins, 88, of Stewartstown passed away Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at Wellspan York Hospital. She was the wife of Archie B. Hopkins to whom she shared 70 years of marriage. Born in Philadelphia she was a daughter of the late Alvah and Helen (Ginhart) Wheaton. Anna worked as a telephone operator and claims assistance with Care First, Blue Cross/Blue Shield and was a member of the Upper Chesapeake Sweet Adelines Choir where she served as past president and secretary. She was a lover of music and the arts and was a key campaign manager for the office of Congressman and later Governor Robert Ehrlich. Anna was also a member of Union Chapel UMC in Joppa, MD. In addition to her husband she is survived by four sons Michael Hopkins and wife Bonnie of Forest Hill, MD, Gary B. Hopkins and wife Sandra Gomez of Elkridge MD, David Hopkins and wife Jan Virsack of Stewartstown, PA and Alan Hopkins and wife Maryellen of Bethany Beach, DE; daughter-in-law Judy Hopkins, 12 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. Anna was preceded in death by a daughter Connee Grimes, one granddaughter Lindsey Hopkins and her seven siblings Alvah Wheaton, John Wheaton, Jane James, Robert Wheaton, Eloise Head, David Wheaton, and George Wheaton . Memorial services will be private at the convenience of her family.
