Arnold Eugene ‘Gene’ Channell, 76, passed away Saturday, December 12, 2020. Gene was born in York, a son of the late William Arnold and Hazel (Miller) Channell. He was a heavy equipment operator, retiring from Fitz & Smith Inc. of Dallastown. Gene was an avid hunter. Gene loved spending time with his family. He would constantly check on his children to see if they needed anything. He enjoyed driving his Corvette. He would often drop in unexpectedly to see an old friend on one of his long drives in his truck; a habit he learned from his father. Gene spent a lot of time at the Taylor Haus catching up on the latest news in town. Another hobby of his was taking a trip to Morning Star every weekend to see what new treasures he could find, he collected A LOT of treasures. Surviving are three children, Richard Channell and his wife, Michelle of Hampstead, NC, Christopher Channell and his wife Barbara of Felton, and Holly Brossman and her husband, Nicholas of York; 9 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; and a sister Betty Hash and her husband, Ronald of New Park, PA. There will be a graveside service 2 p.m. Friday, December 18, 2020, at the Stewartstown Cemetery, Cemetery Ave., Stewartstown. Please wear a mask and practice social distancing.
