Barbara Jean Simpson Lagares

Barbara Jean Simpson Lagares, 61, passed away at her home on Monday, May 13, 2019. She was the loving daughter of the late Paul and Christine (Waltemyer) Simpson. Born in York, she was a graduate of Dallastown High School, Class of 1975, and had been employed as a certified nursing assistant. Surviving is her significant other, Ricky Lagares; four siblings, Robert Simpson, and his wife Barb of Lancaster, Linda Witmer of Dover, Lois Caswell of Spry, and David Simpson, and his wife Kenalee Simpson of Jacobus; numerous nieces and nephews; and her two dogs Eli and Bell. Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing on Thursday, May 16, 2019, from 7-9 p.m. at Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc., 24 N. Second Street, New Freedom, and on Friday, May 17, from 10:30 -11:30 a.m. There will be a funeral service at 11:30 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home with Dr. Kenneth Loyer officiating. Interment will follow in Otterbein Cemetery, Spry (York), Pa.
