Bernice F. Finney passed peacefully on April 18, 2021 at the age of 99. She was the daughter of Clarence and Elsie (Thees) Flora and beloved wife of the late Vernon L. Finney. She is survived by four daughters Sandra (Raymond) Hasener, Kathleen Brittingham, Cynthia (Terry) McCleary and Judith (Richard) Harbaugh; 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. A graduate of Eastern High School in Baltimore, Bernice worked at Revere Copper and Brass during the war. Bernice was a full time homemaker and accomplished seamstress, sewing numerous outfits for her daughters. During the 60’s, Bernice and three other ladies started a preschool program at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church on Liberty Road in Baltimore county, all while continuing her education at the University of Maryland. As empty-nesters, Mom took up golf and our parents enjoyed many hours with friends on the course. After her husband’s passing, Bernice relocated to the Brethren Home at Cross Keys in 2000. We wish to thank all the staff at Cross Keys Village Apartments, the Woodbury long term care facility and the VNA Hospice of Hanover for their compassionate care. Services will be held at the convenience of her family. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to H.O.P.E., P.O. Box 279, Stewartstown, PA 17363.
