Betty F. Brown

Betty F. (Troyer) Brown, 84, died Monday, October 23, 2023, at UPMC York Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of the late George W. Brown Sr.

A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 pm Sunday, October 29, at Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc., 19 S. Main St., Stewartstown. A funeral service will be held at 11 am Monday, October 30, at the funeral home with the Rev. Melissa A. McDade officiating. Burial will be in Stewartstown Cemetery.

Born August 1, 1939, in White Hall, MD, she was the daughter of the late Philip L. and Helen E. (Rohrbaugh) Troyer.

She was a homemaker, and alongside her late husband, operated G & B News Agency as distributors of the Baltimore Sun in South Eastern Pennsylvania from 1995 - 2000.

Betty is survived by two daughters, Dawn L. Snelbaker of Winston Salem, N.C. and Vicki J. Brown of Stewartstown; a son, George W. Brown, Jr. and his wife Jen of Felton; seven grandchildren, Richard Snelbaker, Chloe Brown, Darian Brown, Trinity Brown, Shawn Portello, Isabella Portello, and Tyler Brown; and a brother James Troyer and his wife Vicki of Bel Air, MD; a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert L. Troyer and Howard P. Troyer.
