Betty M. Frantz

Betty M. Frantz, 89, died Saturday, February 17, 2018 at York Hospital. She was the wife of the late Carl E. Frantz, Sr. Betty was the daughter of the late Millard and Maggie (Krebs) Kling. She was a graduate of Codorus Township High School. She taught Sunday School and was a Bible School Teacher for over 40 years. She was formerly employed with AMP in Loganville during the 1960’s. Betty and her late husband owned Snellies Tavern in Caledonia from 1968 to 1971 and Carl Frantz Plumbing from 1971 to 1989. She was a life member of Christ United Church of Christ, a 30 year member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Cashtown and had been a choir member at both churches for 74 years. She was very active with the Cashtown Fire Co. Betty was a member of the Rock Top Club of Cashtown and was a member of the Stewartstown Senior Center. Betty loved her family and enjoyed cooking and sharing her recipes with her grandchildren. Everyone knew that a visit with Betty usually included her famous hamburger barbeque and homemade vegetable soup. Betty is survived by 3 sons: Thomas C. Frantz and his wife, Karen, Carl E. Frantz, Jr. and his wife, Susie, Christopher R. Frantz and his wife, Erin; a daughter, Margaret A. Hartzell and her husband, Ellwood; 10 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and 2 sisters, Anna Mae Snyder and Sara Stauffer. She was predeceased by a sister, Marian “Sis” Strickler; and 2 brothers, Charles and John Kling. Following cremation, a Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, March 24, 2018, at 11 am at Stewartstown United Methodist Church, 26 S. Main St., Stewartstown. Visitation will be from 10 -11 am at the church. Officiating will be the Rev. Dr. Keith Braucher and the Rt. Rev. Barry E. Yingling CSSS. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Stewartstown Area Senior Community Center, PO Box 235, Stewartstown, PA 17363.
