Betty M. Grove, 79, formerly of Seven Valleys, entered into rest on Wednesday, October 18, 2017. Born in Chanceford Township, Betty was the daughter of the late Clair H. and Mabel (Saylor) Warner. Betty was a member of Cross Roads United Methodist Church of Felton. A graduate of Kennard-Dale High School, she was on the volleyball team, track team, was a majorette, and a member of the F.H.A. Betty’s life goal was to make a nice home for her family. She was a loving, caring mother and grandmother. She loved working in her many flower beds, cooking wonderful meals, and making clothing for her family which was her joy. Betty was an avid Phillies fan who also enjoyed dancing and deep sea fishing. She was employed at Seven Valleys Garment as a seamstress until her retirement. She is survived by three children, Dennis Grove and wife Anita, Dorinda and husband Mike Shaull, Mark Grove and companion Debra Koller; four grandchildren, Nichole and husband Dave Rodgers, Shaun Shaull and wife Melissa, Dennis M. Grove and wife Valerie, and Anna Grove; three great grandchildren, Eliana Rodgers, Parker and Brantley Shaull. Betty’s compassionate bedside companions and caregivers were Nichole Rodgers and Christine Shaull. Also surviving are her siblings, Carrie Hostler, Sandra Corbett, Gerald and Emory Warner, as well as many nieces and nephews. Betty was preceded in death by an infant son, Jeffery Benson Grove, as well as her brothers, Robert, John, Larry, and Bryan Warner. There will be a viewing from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Monday, October 23, 2017, at Cross Roads United Methodist Church, 6881 Church Road, Cross Roads, PA17322 (Felton) followed by a Tribute to Life service at 11 a.m. Pastor Troy Harrold will be officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be offered in Betty’s memory to the Pleasant Acres Auxiliary, 118 Pleasant Acres Road, York, PA 17402. Her family feels heartfelt gratitude for the compassionate nurses, CNAs, and the staff of Pleasant Acres Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, as well as Heartland Hospice.
