Betty Marie Heffner

Betty Marie Heffner, passed away on May 15th, 2022. She was known to most family members as “Bets”. Bets, age 99 (if you asked her, no matter how many years went by) was born at home, on March 15, 1934 in Fawn Township, PA, to the late John T. and Marie (Meyers) Hostler.Betty was married to Jacob L. Heffner. After 69 years of marriage Betty left behind her beloved husband, Jacob L. Heffner; dear son, Thomas L. Heffner; adoring granddaughters, Nikki Heffner and Kara Heffner; brother, John Hostler and his wife, Jean; nieces and nephew, Tina Barton and her husband, Dave, Linda Brown and her husband, Robert, and John Hostler and his wife, Missy; great nephews Robert Brown III and Allen Brown; loving daughter in law, Janeen Heffner; she was preceded in death by her son, Lester E. “Jake” Heffner. She was loved by many and will be missed by all. Betty worked the last 25 years as a customer service representative for Southern York Turf and Tractor, the local John Deere Dealership in Shrewsbury, PA.Betty greeted everyone at the door and customers would refer to her as Mom, Grandma, and Miss Betty. Betty was a dedicated worker, never wanting to miss a day of work. Snow or rain, she made it to work with perfect attendance. She worked right up until the day before she went into the hospital. She will be sadly missed by her John Deere Family. A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family.
