Betty Lou Miller, 89, of Freeland, MD, died Wednesday, February 19, 2025. She was the wife of Carl E. Miller, with whom she shared 61 years of marriage. Born November 7, 1935, Betty was the daughter of the late Kinzel and Pearl (Womelsdorf) Larrick.
Betty was part of Hereford High School’s first graduating class in 1954. She attended business school in Baltimore, MD and later worked as a secretary for over 10 years at the former Federal Paper Board Company in White Hall, MD. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. She lived on the family farm with her husband in Freeland, MD and enjoyed being a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
In addition to her husband Carl, she is survived by her four children Steven Miller (Suzanne), Darlene Beck (Bo), Sandra Bothwell (Mike), and Linda Kowalczyk (Andrew), and eight grandchildren Tanner, Carmen, Adam, Liam, Ashlyn, Chayse, Kara, and Tyler. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother William “Bill” Larrick (Eileen) and her infant sister.
There will be a viewing from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 101 N. Second St., New Freedom, PA. The funeral service will begin at 12 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Interment will be at New Freedom Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Betty’s name may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, at above address or to American Diabetes Association; 150 Monument Road, Suite 100, Bala Cynwyd, PA 19004.
