Betty Ruth Riley

Betty Ruth Riley, age 91, of Stewartstown, PA, and formerly of Jarrettsville, MD, passed away on Tuesday, May 7, 2024. She was born in Baltimore, MD, to the late James and Mathilda (nee Leschefsky) Pritchett.

She resided in Jarrettsville, MD, for over 56 years, living on a hill in the woods. She loved the trees and nature that came with it, always saying that there were never any weeds, only wildflowers that grew in her gardens. She was a strong, positive influence in our lives and gave us all the most wonderful memories to cherish, along with all her love.

She is survived by her children, Edward Riley, Jr. and wife, Sandy, Guy Riley, and Peggy Ann Raulie and her husband, Mark; five granddaughters, Karen Riley (Alic), Stephanie Fook (Steven), Jennifer Hetrick (Jason), Erin Stevens (Matt) and Kelli Raulie (Aaron); and four great grandchildren, Abby, Brian, Kevin, and Lily. Also surviving are her brother, James Pritchett Jr. and wife Siglinde along with nieces, nephews, and other family members.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to a viewing from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 14 at Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc., 19 S. Main Street, Stewartstown, PA. There will be a funeral service Wednesday, May 15 at 12:30 p.m. at Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc. in Stewartstown. Interment will follow in Highview Memorial Gardens, 3433 Fallston Road, Fallston, MD  21047. Please wear casual dress. Flowers are welcome.  HartensteinCares.com
