Beverly Ann Scavone

Beverly Ann Scavone, 82, of Freeland, MD passed away at her home with family at her side on Tuesday, December 14, 2021. Beverly was born in Hagerstown, MD; a daughter of the late Walter Gott and Elizabeth "Betty" Marie (Cox) Jones. She was the loving wife of Salvatore A. “Reb” Scavone of Freeland, MD. She was a proud graduate from Eastern High School who worked as a draftsman and as a bank teller before raising a family and assisting Reb with their business. She was a devoted member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, MD. She enjoyed crafts, including crocheted afghans and pot holders, counted cross stitch and then later she made toothpick Christmas ornaments and boxes she made of greeting cards. She easily made friends at the craft shows and often had repeat customers and ones who gave her more than the asking price. She was very active with the Freeland Legacy Alliance and the Northern Baltimore County Historical Society: which she was especially proud of. She was quick to help others and would often do whatever she could to do so. Beverly will be missed by her husband, “Reb” and her two sons, Richard and William Scavone; five grandchildren, Lauren, Casey, Dylan, Lena, and Benjamin; and her sister, Carolyn Scarborough. There will be a public viewing on Sunday, December 19, 2021, from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. at Hartenstein Funeral and Cremation Care, Inc., 24 N. Second St., New Freedom, PA 17349. A Funeral Liturgy will be on Monday, December 20, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, 18310 Middletown Rd., Parkton, MD 21120 with a public viewing one hour prior from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Middletown Cemetery, Freeland, MD.
