Blanche Elaine Spangler

Blanche. Elaine Spangler, 101, Southern York, PA passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2024. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, (Hampden), she was the daughter of the late John Leslie and Miranda Violetta (Shipley)Bortle.

Blanche is survived by her five children, late son, William Jack Spangler Sr., daughters, Deborah (Debbie) Belcher, Linda Shackelford, Karen Spangler Lopez, & son Scott Spangler.  She was preceded in death by her siblings, Miranda Gertrude(Gert) Bortle, and John Leslie Bortle, Jr.; grandchildren, William Jack Spangler, Jr., Suzanne Dervaes, Steven Belcher, Willard H. Shackelford, III (Trey), Mindy Shackelford, Marianna Lopez-Bennett, Lindsay Dabbs (Lopez), Brianna, Robert "Robbie" Spangler, and Kyle Spangler; great grandchildren, Cole and Julianna Spangler, Colin, Andrew, Trinity, and Julia Shackelford, the late Zach, Jenna, Dervaes, Landen Lopez, Avery Bennett, Carter and Piper Dabbs, Zoey,Tripp, (soon to be baby) Jack Spangler, Wolfgang (Wolfy), Aurora, Koda Spangler, Jackson, and Brooklyn Spangler.

Blanche worked at Noxell (Coty/Protor &Gamble) after 25 years of service. Then proceeded to work as an administrative assistant for Dr. Samorodin (Dermatologist) in Hunt Valley, MD. She loved ballroom dancing, making her famous fudge, candy and cakes, loved cruises, and the beach. She enjoyed many things throughout her life, such as listening to music, telling great stories, loved her gardening of her Azaleas, Rhododendron & more.
