Bonnie Jo Houston

Bonnie Jo Houston passed away on July 19, 2021, at home with her family by her side.She was born on August 7th, 1938, in York County, PA to the late Cora Mae (Zeigler) McGraw and Joseph Clyde Cook.She was raised by her late step father George “Tate” McGraw. Bonnie was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and the New Freedom VFW Post 7012 Auxiliary.She graduated from Susquehannock High School in 1956.She worked at Black & Decker for many years.She retired from Harley Davidson in 2001, after 33 years as an inspector.She cherished her children, grandchildren and dog, Milo, who she loved spoiling and spending time with.She looked forward to Wednesday’s morning coffee, with her friends at the local coffee shop. She enjoyed her Sunday morning church services with her friends.She spent many hours talking on the phone with her family and friends, especially her best friend, Sally Sites. Surviving members of her family include daughter, Stacy Houston-Flaherty and husband, Tim; grandchildren Drew and Allison Flaherty; sister Judy Octerbeck and step brother George McGraw and wife Carol; nephew Steve Herbert and wife Lori; niece Annette Noragong; and great nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by daughter, Debbie Ann Helfrey, her sister Delores Cook and nephew, Curtis E. Noragong. The family would like to thank AseraCare Hospice, especially Peter and Nicky for helping us through this difficult time, we are forever grateful. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
