Buddie Franklin Smith

Buddie Franklin Smith , 89 passed from this life on Sunday, August 2022.  He was the beloved husband of Dorothy Ann (Sturgill) Smith and they were married 72 years.  Born in Virginia, Buddie was the son of Milton and Corrie Smith.

Buddie enlisted in the Air Force and serviced in Freising Germany; assigned to the 604 ^th Aircraft Control & Warning Squadron, from 1950 to 1954.  During his working career, he worked in various industries; transit, trucking, insurance in an administrative capacity.

Buddie and Dorothy have two living children; Anita Merryman and her husband Jack; Madaline P Tampsett and her husband William. Their son Milton E. Smith departed this life, April 13, 2021; His wife of twenty-five years, Robin King-Smith, lives in Hanover, PA. They have numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren in the area.

There will be a public viewing from 1-2 p.m. on Tuesday, August 16, at Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc., 24 N 2 ^nd St., New Freedom, PA 17349 with a funeral service beginning at 2:00 p.m.  Following the service, the burial will follow at Mt. Zion United Methodist Cemetery, 20901 Mt. Zion Rd.  Freeland, MD 21053, with military honors.
