C. Earl Tompkins

C. Earl Tompkins, 81, of Fawn Grove, passed on October 29th, 2018. He was the loving husband of Joy A. Tompkins for 60 years. Earl was born in Fawn Township to William Tompkins and Gladys Tompkins-Hendrickson. He was an avid Dale Earnhardt, Sr. NASCAR fan and loved to listen to Johnny Cash and Merle Haggard. Earl loved his family dearly and will be missed by many. In addition to his wife Joy, Earl is survived by two sons David Tompkins and significant other Connie Phillips, and Terry Tompkins and his wife Terry; 1 granddaughter Nicole Tompkins; and 1 great-granddaughter Kaylee Shackleford; 1 brother Richard Tompkins; and 2 sisters Norma Koller, and Nancy Benson. Earl is preceded in death by a granddaughter Sasha Tompkins and three brothers William “Junior”, J. Norman, and Donald Tompkins. A public viewing will be held from 10 AM – 12PM on Friday, November 2nd, 2018 at Hartenstein Funeral Cremation Care, Inc., 19 S. Main St., Stewartstown, PA, until a service begins at 12PM. Rev. David Stough will be officiating services, and interment will follow at Fawn Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a charity of your choice in Earl’s memory.
