Carol Louise Lennon Shaw

Carol Louise Lennon Shaw, 81, of York, passed from this life on Thursday, June 16, 2022. She was the loving wife of the late Glenn Claud Shaw Jr. who passed on March 16, 2022. They shared over forty years of marriage before his death. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, Carol started teaching 6th grade in Beltsville, MD, and remained there for many years. She then taught college psychology classes at Towson University, Maryland. She later was a guidance counselor in the Baltimore County Public School System for many years. When she retired, she worked at the YMCA pool, teaching water aerobics. Carol was a gentle, kind, and loving soul. She had numerous friends and some of her friendships lastedmore than 40 years. She and Glenn shared many of the same friends and they enjoyed eating out and being together. Carol enjoyed gardening, scuba diving (she was the reason her grandson, Matthew, became a certified scuba diver), and she loved spending time with her grandchildren. She and her husband also taught Bible studies in their home. She was a wonderful person and she will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Surviving is a daughter, Debbie Cuba; two step children, David Shaw and Richard Shaw; and two grandchildren, Laura Ashley Zachary and Matthew David Zachary. A public viewing will be held on Thursday, June 23, 2022 at Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc., 24 N. Second St., New Freedom, PA, from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. A funeral service will begin at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, June 24, 2022 at the funeral home.Interment will be in Mount Olivet United Methodist Cemetery, Stewartstown, immediately following the service.
