Cecil H. Morris

Cecil H. Morris, 79, of Fawn Grove passed away Thursday, November 1, 2018 at Wellspan York Hospital. He was the husband of W. Cheryl (Mercer) Morris to whom he was married 47 years. Born in Fawn Grove he was the son of the late Herbert S. and Ethel G. (Patterson) Morris. Cecil owned his own mason business laying block, brick and stone in York and Harford Counties. He also worked for Forest Hill Construction as a carpenter until his retirement. Cecil loved to hunt and fish and created wood crafts as a hobby and maintained the old family farm. He was a member of the Fawn Grove VFW for many years and was a 1957 graduate of Kennard-Dale High School. In addition to his wife he is survived by a brother-in-law Richard W. Jones, Sr., niece Susan M. Hart and a nephew Richard W. Jones, Jr. He was preceded in death by two sisters Sara (Morris) Jones and Doris L. Morris and a nephew David A. Jones. Funeral services will be held Friday, November 9, 2018 at 11AM from Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care Inc, 19 S. Main St. Stewartstown. Interment will follow in Fawn Grove Cemetery. A viewing will be held Thursday evening from 6-8PM at the funeral home.
