Charles G. Ryan

Charles G. Ryan, 88, of Shrewsbury passed away Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at his residence. He was the husband of the late Evelyn M. Ryan who passed away in 2018. Born in Baltimore, Maryland he was a son of the late Martin and Margaret (Goeb) Ryan. Charles spent 32 years at Lever Bros.Upon retirement, he and Evelyn moved to the Eastern Shore and enjoyed life crabbing and watching their grandchildren grow up. He also enjoyed history and politics. He is survived by two daughters Kathleen Clasing (Bernie) and Sherri Ryan (Sherry); three grandchildren Shannon Clasing (Jeremiah), Morgan Clasing (Matt) and Brooke Maney (Derek); two great-grandchildren Charleigh Clasing and Parker Maney; siblings Andrew Ryan, Jerry Ryan (Joanne), Barbara Edwards and Patricia Ryan. Charles was preceded in death by one brother Martin Ryan. Funeral Liturgy will be held Saturday, October 2, 2021 at 11AM from St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 315 N. Constitution Ave., New Freedom. Interment will follow in the adjoining church cemetery with military honors provided by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. Viewings will be held on Friday from 2-4PM and 6-8PM from Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc., 24 N. Second St., New Freedom.
