Charlie Eugene Warner

d. March 27, 2023

Charlie “ Butch” Eugene Warner 73, entered in to eternal rest Monday, March 27,2023.

Born March 31,1949 in York County, to the late Charles Wayne and Evelyn Mae (Blouse) Warner, he was the oldest of 8 children. He was the long time partner of Linda Henry.

Butch attended Kennard-Dale High School . He didn’t receive his diploma. Always telling his kids and grandkids to get an education, so they wouldn’t have to work as hard, or as much, as he had to.

And he certainly worked hard, and a lot, tirelessly over the years.

As a teen he worked on farms, or anywhere he could, to help his family (and have a few bucks for Pall Malls and Fords).

He was called to service in the draft and served in Vietnam from 1969-1970. He was part of the 4th infantry division stationed at  Pleiku, An Khel, Qui Nhon, and Cam Ranh Bay.

After his service to our country, Butch came home and started working as hard as ever.

Over the next forty some years, he worked at RedCo making tractor trailer rims, as handyman extraordinaire for the Sechrist family for decades, ran the lathe and boiler room for Weyerhaeuser, worked the tow motor at Southern Diecasters, and finally retired as Mr Charlie, the hot wheels loving night custodian at SEMS west.

If you knew him at all, you knew he loved street rods and muscle cars regardless of the size. True to life, miniature, and everything in between he liked them to be fast and look “cool”.

His love for models that started as a young child and continued throughout his life led him to be a founding member of the Central PA Model Car Club. He still enjoyed getting to meetings when he could.

Pap Butch loved telling stories about his life, and cars, and guns, and knives, and even what he just ate, to anyone that he met. And if you knew him at all, you knew that too.

The only thing he loved more than cars, guns, knives, and good food, was his family.
