Colette Susan Mirachi

Colette Susan Mirachi, 72, passed away Thursday, April 22, 2021. She was the loving wife of Terry C. Mirachi and they celebrated 50 years of marriage on August 29, 2020. Born in Havre de Grace, Maryland, Colette was the daughter of the late Norman and Evelyn (Wheatley) Rosnick. Colette had been an administrative assistant for NASA. Colette lived a full, fun, and energetic life.She was always on the move, open to adventures, athletically fit, learning new things and skills, cooking that fancy meal, shopping for that perfect item, crafting, painting artwork, meeting new people, being a good friend, and always staying active. And most of all, she loved her family. During Colette’s work life she was an administrative assistant and logistics tracker for the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt MD during the Gemini and Apollo phases of space travel.That was all part of her adventurous soul.She later worked as an assistant for an optometrist office. She travelled the world seeing famous landmarks and discovering those little out of way enjoyable locations.Her travel varied between guided tours and go where your heart and road leads you discovery.Her favorite place was Austria giving her insight to her heritage.She even found a picture in Melk of a young girl that looked just like her at that age, crooked bangs, pig tails, and all.During these travels she always was meeting new people and making new friends while spreading good will. Colette was quite the decorator, making her home comfortable while being HGTV worthy.She always kept her house impeccable.How she kept her decorations so dust free was unbelievable.Easter, Halloween, and Christmas were times for extra decorations. It was like going into a shop, something to see at every turn.Christmas started with a decorated tree in every room of the house then going to shelfs, mantles, furniture tops, and even room corners.Thank goodness for her organizational skills in decorating and storage. She loved her house and entertaining there, whether it was a small get together or a large party. Her flair for decorating led her to many forms of crafting during her life.Her craft skills changed as the times and fashions changed.If it required imagination, steady hands, and an eye for detail and decorating, she could do it.After moving to New Freedom, she found a painting class and advanced her skills through acrylics , water colors, colored pencils, and whatever medium was available or being taught at the time.She shared her artwork with family members and friends, and that will always be a part of her legacy.Although the first few pictures she forgot to sign. With her natural athleticism, she played softball, volleyball, tennis, golf, waterskied, swam, hiked, and worked out at the gym.That’s in addition to the physical efforts around the house of moving furniture and yard work.And try to keep up with her while walking!How she walked so fast without running was amazing. But, you wouldn’t catch her for a second walking around in the grass barefoot or with sandals.The grass touching her feet just drove her crazy. Colette had a subtle wit that some didn’t catch onto.She would make everyone laugh, or at least chuckle, with her stories.But pay attention to those stories, as they were never short and included every detail, twist and turn, and a few side stories thrown in.Her and Terry were complete opposites in this respect, but it worked well. If there was a song playing, Colette was ready to dance.She loved to show off her moves.She would sing along, mostly mouthing the words as her tune was sometimes just a half note off.But no matter, she had fun. Colette loved her parents deeply, missing them after their passing. I’m sure she is with them today.She loved her brothers and sister and loved being the family matriarch to them.She also loved all of her nieces and nephews very much and was happy to be a part of their lives. She had lots of friends and held them all closely in her heart.Most of all, she was devoted to her loving husband, sharing her life with him unselfishly.As with the lyrics from her wedding dance song, Lara’s Theme – Dr. Zivago:Someday we’ll meet again my love….God speed my love till you are mine again. She always did the best she could in everything.Sharing with others, befriending others, and helping others as much as she could.She was always true to her Catholic faith and the Lord Jesus. Surviving in addition to her husband are two brothers, Norman Rosnick and his wife, Sue of Fenwick Island, DE, Kim Rosnick of Bowie, Maryland, and a sister, Natalie Fowler and her husband, Mike of Bowie, Maryland; and nephew Joshua Fowler and wife Kristina, niece Rachel Pasco and husband Anthony, nephew Brian Rosnick, niece Cherie Case and husband Mike, and niece Amie Kuhn. There will be a Funeral Liturgy at St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church in New Freedom at a later date when everyone can gather and celebrate her life safely.
