Crockett Alan Ferguson

Crockett Alan Ferguson, age 68, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 19, 2024.

He was the beloved husband of Stacey (Smith) Ferguson. They were married for almost 46 years.

Surviving in addition to his wife is his favorite son, Jeramy, favorite daughter-in-law, Carolyn, adopted parents Howard and Kay Edwards, siblings Ronnie Ferguson, Charles Ferguson, Valerie Vance, Kim Paul and Kelly Schuman. He is also survived by beloved in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and countless forever friends.

Born in Louisa, KY, Crockett was the son of Hazel and Leslie Ferguson. He grew up in Baltimore, MD. At the age 19, he served a two-year full-time mission in Nagoya, Japan for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He worked for PETRO, a home heating oil company based in Long Island, NY, for 43 years, working his way up from an oil-truck driver to a systems analyst over that same span. He enjoyed spending time with his family, researching genealogy, and helping others in anyway he could.

Crockett was a faithful member of the Shrewsbury Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he served as a lay Stake Financial Clerk for almost 30 years. His faith brought him great strength as he battled liver cancer in his final days.

There will be a viewing on Friday, April 26, 2024 from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. and from 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. at Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc., 19 S. Main St., Stewartstown, PA 17363. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, April 27th at 10:00 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 308 Campbell Road, New Freedom, PA 17349.  Burial to follow at Stewartstown Cemetery, Stewartstown, PA.
