Cynthia Rose Kline

Cynthia Rose Kline, 85, of New Freedom, passed away Friday, November 10, 2023. Born in Plattsburg, NY, she was the daughter of the late Donald Brown and Edith (LaFave) LaPoint. She was the beloved wife to Larry S. “Poppy” Kline, Sr. for 54 years until he passed in 2021.

Cynthia lived in the Cottages of Perry Hall, and was known as “the queen of the cottages”. She was very outgoing and social with everyone. Cynthia enjoyed hosting family parties and holidays as often as she could. She loved dancing and gambling. A family-oriented woman, Cynthia was always involved in her children’s and grandchildren’s lives and sporting events, and especially loved going on trips and vacation with the grandkids. She enjoyed country music, cows, and eating crabs & chocolate eclairs and was an avid QVC shopper. Cynthia was a member of the Red Hat Society.

Cynthia, affectionately known as “Memaw”, is survived by her 3 children, Robert “Bob” Aikens, Lorraine “Lori” Aikens and wife Tracey Nolan Aikens, and Larry “Stewart” Kline, Jr.  and wife Wendy; 9 grandchildren; 12 Great-grandchildren; her siblings, Craig, Foster, Barbara Lee, and Elliott; and her long-time best friend, Suzie “Miss Sue” Hoge. She was preceded in death by her siblings Donald, Arlene, Jane, and Miles, along with her husband and parents.

A public viewing will be held from 6-8pm Friday, November 17, and Saturday, November 18 from 10-11am at Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc. 24 N 2nd St, New Freedom, PA 17349. A service will begin at 11am Saturday at the funeral home. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
