Daniel (Danny) W. Openshaw

Daniel (Danny) W. Openshaw, 80, of Parkton, Md., passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, November 27, 2024.

Born in Parkton, Md., he was the son of the late Herman (Pete)and Helen (Collins) Openshaw.

Danny served in the United States Army in his younger years. He worked for Murray Corporation in Hunt Valley where he retired after 37 years. He was a member of the Parkton American Legion, Post 256.

He loved helping others, being with his large extended family and spending time with his best friend, his son working on cars or just being together.

Danny is survived by his beloved life partner Jean Brown; son James Openshaw and his wife Kelly; granddaughter Jamie Openshaw, great grandsons Joshua and Justin Barnes;  brother Dennis Openshaw (Shirley); sisters Trish and Naomi Davis; special family members Otts, Debbie, the late Dennis, Susie, and Sherri and eleven grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and  two great great grandchildren; former spouse Linda Mae (Day) Openshaw and his dog Nina.

There will be a viewing from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc., 24 N. Second St., New Freedom, PA.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 5, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home.

Interment will be at Pine Grove UM Cemetery in Parkton, MD.
