Daniel J. Leckrone

Daniel J. Leckrone, 69, of Stewartstown passed away on Tuesday, November 1, 2022. It’s hard to believe that our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother has left us. And in true Dan fashion, he did it on his own terms.

Born May 10, 1953, to Joe and Florence Leckrone, Daniel Joseph Leckrone was second in a line of nine children. He forged ahead through life despite dealing with multiple health issues. He earned a B.S. at Towson University and began a career at Johns Hopkins as a medical technologist.

In 1978, Dan married Melinda Seward, who became his soft place to land and was that for 44 years.

He filled his life with too many interests to name, but fly fishing, ping pong, target shooting, and flying RC airplanes must be mentioned. He was a true Renaissance man. And he collected friends from every phase of his life, so many friends who we know will think of him fondly, and often.

He is survived by his 5 children, who know what it’s like to be loved enormously by their father; Robert Daniel Leckrone (Karen), Timothy George Leckrone (Dr. Sandeep Devabhakthuni), Lauren Marie Leckrone-Smith (Greg), Michael Samuel “Footie” Leckrone (Jessica), and Julia Louise Leckrone (Whitney Regan); 5 grandchildren, Luke, Kira, Jordan, Ellie, and Samantha; 8 siblings, Steven Leckrone (Diane), Jane Chalker (Dr. Dave Chalker), James Leckrone (Jeanine), Anne Leckrone-Wade, Sue Leckrone-Thompson (Edward), Thomas Leckrone (Krysty), Barbara Leckrone. His smile and love will also be missed by over 50 nieces and nephews; and his beloved service dog, Layla, who was with him every day while in the hospital.

Please join us on Thursday, November 10, 2022, at Stewartstown United Methodist Church 26 S. Main St. Stewartstown, PA 17363 to send Dan off in true Dan style. A visitation will begin at 1pm, with a service to follow at 2pm. A fellowship luncheon will be held at 3pm at the Herbert Barn 14122 Shaw Rd. Stewartstown, PA 17363.
