Delmar Powers

Delmar Powers, 82, of White Hall, MD passed away Monday, July 9, 2018. He was the husband of Shelva (Stoner) Powers to whom he was married 52 years. Born in Pound, Virginia he was a son of the late Hurley and Nancy (Collins) Powers. Delmar worked for the former Earp Construction Company in Cockeysville for 23 years retiring in 1996 and previously worked as an equipment operator for International Harvester also in Cockeysville for 15 years. He enjoyed camping, vegetable gardening, fixing older pickup trucks and tractors. Delmar was very family oriented and enjoyed eating out. He was a veteran of the US Army. He will be remembered by love from his wife Shelva and children Betty Mauler of Glen Rock, Barbara Sue, wife of Jeffery Tracey of Freeland, MD; Jerry Dean Powers of White Hall, MD and step-daughter Robin, wife of Doug Findlay of New Mexico; 10 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren; two brothers and two sisters. Delmar was preceded in death by four sisters and one brother. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 14, 2018 at 2PM from Turnpike Baptist Church, 519 S. Main St. Shrewsbury, PA 17361 with Pastor Jeff Feeser officiating. Interment will follow in Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens, Timonium, MD. A viewing will be held from 1PM until the time of his service at the church on Saturday.
