Delmos S. Rill

Delmos S. Rill, 81, passed away Saturday, February 13, 2016 at his home. He is the husband of Sharron Lee (Covert) Rill. A viewing will be held 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, February 18, 2016 at Mason-Dixon Baptist Church, 713 Campbell Road, New Freedom. The Funeral Service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, at the Church, with Pastor Terry Felton officiating. Burial will be 11 a.m. Friday, February 19 at New Freedom Cemetery, New Freedom. Delmos was born December 23, 1934 in Manchester, Md. to the late Delmos M. and Minnie V. (Sotdorus) Rill. Delmos was a member of Mason-Dixon Baptist Church where he served as a greeter and usher. He dedicated his life to the Lord many years ago. He began spreading the gospel on the streets of Baltimore City, leading many people to the Lord along the way. His calling did not end in Baltimore. Delmos was an example of the Christian who had great faith, strong beliefs and truly loved the Lord. He did not hesitate to share the Bible everywhere he traveled or to those who would visit, hoping one more person may have the opportunity to know the Lord as their personal savior. Delmos was a life-long farmer in Manchester, Md. where he raised beef, hogs and vegetables. For 25 years he sold his produce in Baltimore. Delmos and Sharron celebrated 51 years of marriage in June 2015. In addition to his wife, he is survived by eight children, Daniel Rill and his companion, Deborah Boyer, Holly Hare and husband, Lawrence, Molly Fortenbaugh and husband, Donald, Margaret Hobbs and husband, Henry, Peggy Measley and husband, Brian, Del Rill, Maria Warne and companion, Brandon Openshaw and Elena Nurse and husband, Martin; one brother, Melvin H. Rill and wife, Martha; 21 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by two grandchildren, Brandon and Brittany Warne. J.J. Hartenstein Mortuary, Inc., New Freedom, is in charge of arrangements.
