Delores E. List

Delores Elaine List, 92, passed from this life on Wednesday, June 19, 2024. She was the beloved wife of the late Quentin P. List and they were married for 59 years before his passing. Born in Shrewsbury, she was the daughter of the late Ralph Jacob and Frances M. (Miller) Winemiller. Delores worked in Marine Plastics at AMP in Glen Rock. She also cleaned houses, worked on a potato harvester, washed and ironed clothing for other families, enjoyed mowing the grass and maintaining the church cemetery for St. John the Baptist Catholic Church for over 20 years. Delores also picked beans, potatoes, and tomatoes. She volunteered for the Ladies Auxiliary Shrewsbury Volunteer Fire Co. She will be remembered as a wonderful woman and will be greatly missed by many.

Delores is survived by her five children, Jane (Steve), Joan (Alan), Michael (Kim), Philip (Sonia), and Diane (Scott); and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Delores was preceded in death by a stepson, Dale List Sr. and two sons-in-law, Franklin “Frank” and Roy, as well as four brothers.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Funeral Liturgy on Monday, July 1, at 12 Noon at the Historic St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 315 N. Constitution Ave., New Freedom, PA 17349. She will be laid to rest in the adjoining church cemetery following the Mass. If desired, memorial contributions may be made in Delores’ memory to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church at the address listed above or to the York County SPCA, 3159 Susquehanna Trail North, York, PA 17406.
