Diana “Dana” Miceli was born in Brooklyn, NY to Dorothy Newcomb and Louis John Puglies on November 22, 1944. She is described by all who knew her to be a beautiful and loving person whose spirit lit up the room. Her positive influence on people of all ages, kindness and generosity, as well as her warm hugs, were legendary.
Diana was an avid sports fan, an accomplished cook, and her creativity, eye for beauty, and design skills were signature traits. She loved flowers and her gardens were artistic masterpieces all through her life. This passion became a professional legacy, combining her talent with love, creating gorgeous wedding floral arrangements for many special friends and family. Dana was intellectually curious about the world, had a zest for life, and a natural ease with people that allowed her to forge connections & lasting friendships easily. Her innate positivity, natural empathy for others, and appreciation for life’s blessings, small and large, made her an unintentional mentor throughout her life. Dana had a wicked sense of humor, found laughter in everyday experiences, poked fun at herself, and always had a ready smile and a listening ear. And, her love of animals was a huge part of her life always with many beloved pets over the years.
Her family was the absolute light of her life and she delighted in time together and cheering them on in their pursuits. She loved hosting parties, creating special meals & traditions, playing games, and sharing stories of relatives who had passed, keeping their memories alive for younger generations.
She is pre-deceased by loving husband James D. Miceli, parents Dorothy & Louis Puglies, in-laws James & Rose Miceli, sister Jean Wilkinson, and best friend Jeannie Joyce. Dana is survived by her children Crista Stark & Jimmy Miceli, granddaughter Jordyn Stark, son in law Scot Stark, daughter in law Arlene Miceli, sisters in law Susan Price (husband David) and Lisa Miceli, several nieces & nephews, countless dear friends, and beloved pets Bella & Freddie.
Charitable donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in Dana’s memory are gratefully accepted.
