Donald Paul Thomas, 81, of Country Meadows of Leader Heights, formally of Glenville, PA, passed away Friday, October 22, 2021. He was born and raised in Pimlico, MD, to the late Albert and Mildred (Seitz) Thomas. He was the husband of 29 years to his loving wife, Loretta F. Thomas. Don graduated from Forest Park High School, then joined the Navy for a two-year tour. He was stationed on the USS Kitty Hawk (CVA). He was then employed at Black & Decker, Hampstead, MD, as a line supervisor for more than 30 years. Don was a member of the Westminster Moose and Bethlehem Steltz Reformed Church of Glen Rock, PA. He was very proud of his sons, and his twin grandsons, and enjoyed watching them wrestle and compete in other sports. Don had a great love of the outdoors; one of his favorite things to do was mow his lawn. He enjoyed Country line dancing with friends and doing Soduku puzzles, taking walks with Loretta and their little dog, Oscar, and going to the beach. In addition to his wife, Don is survived by his brother, Carl Thomas of Florida; two sons, Douglas and Daniel Thomas of Manchester, MD; two stepdaughters, Debra Baugher of New Freedom, PA, and Sandra Burton who predeceased him; 8 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren. His cheerful smile and laughter will truly be missed. There will be a visitation from 10-11 a.m. Wednesday, November 3, at Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc., 24 N. Second St., New Freedom, PA 17349 with a memorial service beginning at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in the New Freedom Cemetery.
