Donna M. Bennett

Donna Marie Bennett (nee Hennessey), 77, passed away Wednesday, September 4 at home with her husband John C. by her side. Born in Baltimore, she was the daughter to the late Wade B. and Blanche (Carey) Hennessey. Donna and John were married in 1996, spending 28 wonderful years together. She is also remembered by her stepson Chad; two step-grandchildren, Tyler and Delainey; brother-in-law, Joe Zbozin; sister-in-law, Denise; nieces and nephews, Charles and Karen Bennet, Dana and Tom McCuster, and Kay Kessler; and grand-nieces and nephews, Morgan, Meredith, Mac, and Maggie. She will also be missed by her life long friend Beverly Dobson.

Donna graduated from the University of Maryland in 1973. She originally went a career in nursing but was called in a different direction. She earned her Masters of Divinity from the Western Theological Seminary in Washington, D.C.. Donna was the pastor at Ayers Chapel in Norrisville, MD from 1988-1997. She also worked for Gas and Electric. She loved spending time outside gardening and her trips to the beach. Donna loved the trips to Colonial Williamsburg as well. She also enjoyed her needle-work; but mostly, she enjoyed reading and education. She was an avid reader; if it was laying there, she would read it. She loved the library and would read anything she could. Donna’s goal in life was “to be a good person”, which those who knew her would agree, she surpassed that goal.

Family and friends are invited to a viewing Tuesday, September 10, 2024 at 10:00 AM at West Liberty United Methodist Church, 20400 West Liberty Rd, White Hall, MD 21161. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM at the church. Interment will immediately follow the service in the adjoining cemetery. Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc., 19 S. Main St., Stewartstown, Pa is assisting the family with the arrangements.
