Dora Belle (Ringer) McCune, of Bel Air, died Thursday, April 12, 2018.She was the wife of the late James M. McCune whom died on Oct. 29, 2008, they were together 58 years. Dora was born on July 7, 1932 in Cuzzart, WV.She was the daughter of the late Okey G. and Mae E. (Frankhouser) Ringer. She is survived by her three children, James R. McCune and his wife, Katie of Shrewsbury, PA, E. Carol Gilwee and her husband, Robert of Phoenix, MD and Kathleen J. Bowen and her husband, Edward of Bel Air, MD; 5 grandchildren, Dan, Rebecca, Lauren, Kristen, and James “Jeb”; 2 great grandchildren, Emma and Evelyn; and brother, Edward Ringer. She was preceded in death by a brother, Albert Ray Ringer. Dora graduated valedictorian of her class at Bruceton Mills High School in WV. She also graduated summa cum laude at Fairmont State, and went on to receive her Master’s degree in Reading Education from Loyola College in Baltimore City. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Educator’s Honor Society. She taught mathematics at Dundalk High School, grade six at Norrisville, and elem. educ. and reading at Jarrettsville, and Forest Hill Elem. Schools. She was a reading specialist and was passionate about introducing computers into schools as a computer coordinator. After Dora’s retirement, she enjoyed traveling extensively to many wonderful destinations with her husband, James. Dora was a longtime member of Norrisville United Methodist Church, and she was active in the United Methodist Women’s Organization. She was a Den Mother, a member of the library’s book club and was an avid reader. She enjoyed sewing, and crocheting. A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 27, 2018 at 11 A.M., at Norrisville United Methodist Church; 2811 W. Church, White Hall, MD 21161 with Rev. Melissa A. McDade officiating.
