Doris Cook, 94, of Shrewsbury, PA was called home on October 3, 2021. Born August 24, 1927 to the late Henry and Ruth Netzke and older sister to the late Mildred Netzke. Doris grew up in Thornwood, NY and raised her family in Hensonville, NY. She moved to Shrewsbury, PA in the middle of the 1990's.She was a small town girl who specially loved the beauty of the Catskill Mountain region. Doris spent numerous years as accounting and office manager for several GM auto dealerships upstate New York and she was a volunteer Cub Scout den mother for 10 years in Greene County New York. Doris was a member of South Central York County Senior Center for many years where she enjoyed going on the various trips and organized the center's library.She was a regular participant with the Girl Scout program held at the Strasburg Haus apartments (where she resided) and enjoyed making crafts and getting to know the Girl Scouts. She always kept up with what her children and grandchildren were doing. She loved to reminisce and go through old photos any time she got the chance. Doris loved puzzles and word searches. She enjoyed watching NASCAR, golf and the NY Yankees on TV. She also loved old movies, especially Westerns with John Wayne. Doris is survived by her three children; Gilbert Cook and companion Rita Feeney, Gale and Kevin Buck, and Steven Cook and companion Alice Cande. Four grandchildren; Jeremy and Jocelyn Cook, Lindsay and Robert Murray, Carson and Beth Buck, and Holly and Shaun Baer. Three great grandchildren; Jack Cook, Judi Cook and Clara Murray. Honoring Doris’ wishes there will be no services.
