Doris L. Wolfe, 80, of New Freedom, died August 6th, 2018 at Wellspan York Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of Burl Wolfe for 61 years. Doris was the daughter of the late Arnel and Evelyn Wright. She was a teacher’s aide for the Baltimore City Public School system. During her time at the Baltimore Public City School System, Doris worked in the library and the high intensity reading lab. After teaching, Doris became an accounts receivable clerk with Baltimore Photo and Blue Print – Copy Cat. Doris was a former member of the Faith Reformed Episcopal Church in Baltimore, MD and a current active member of the St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Freedom, PA. She loved to take bus trips to New England with her husband Burl. Doris also loved to cook and take meals to those who were home bound. In addition to her husband Burl, Doris is survived by 2 sons Mark D. Wolfe of Gettysburg and Donald E. Wolfe and wife Marjie of Melbourne, FL; 4 grandchildren Lisa Kurtz, Kathleen Johnson, Rachel Wolfe, and Donna Wolfe. Doris is also survived by 2 brothers Ernest Wright, and Duard Wright, and a sister Barbara McGee; and a devoted cousin Martha Wein. She is preceded in death by a brother Dale Wright, a sister Wanda Trollinger, and a granddaughter Angela Mae Wolfe. A memorial service with be held at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church at 1:00 PM on August 17th, 2018 with the Rev. George M. Schneider officiating. Interment will be at the New Freedom Cemetery following the memorial service.
