Dorothy Ann Smith

Dorothy Ann Smith, 90 passed from this life on Friday, February 24, 2023. She was the beloved wife of Buddie Franklin Smith, whom she was married to for 72 years before his passing, on August 7, 2022.  Born in Scarboro, WV, Dorothy was the daughter of Adam Eugene Sturgill and Ida Keatley.

Dorothy was a homemaker and worked at Black & Decker in Hampstead, MD. Buddie and Dorothy have two living children; Anita Merryman and her husband Jack; Madaline P Tampsett and her husband William.  Their son, Milton E. Smith departed this life, April 13, 2021. He was survived by his wife, Robin Smith. They have numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren in the area.

There will be a public viewing from 1-2 p.m. on Saturday, March 4, 2023, at Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc. 24 N 2 ^nd St., New Freedom, PA 17349 with a funeral service beginning at 2:00 p.m. Following the service, the burial will follow a Mt Zion United Methodist Cemetery, 20901 Mt Zion Rd.
