Dorothy Meda Edsall

Dorothy Meda “Dot” Edsall, 96 of Shrewsbury passed away on Wednesday October 21, 2020 at Wellspan York Hospital. She is the wife of the late Omah F. Edsall who passed in 1988. Dot was born in 1924 to Nelson Markel and Meda (Artz) in Tolna, PA and was one of 4 children. She was employed at the former Weyerhaeuser Co. in New Freedom for 16 years. She also was involved with the Senior Companion Program with Lutheran Social Services for 8 years. She was a member auxiliary of VFW Post # 7012 in New Freedom, and the American Legion Post #455 in Stewartstown. Dorothy is survived by her children Jo Marie Matterson, Rebecca Markel, Frank Engel, David Engel, and Paul Engel; 16 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great grandchildren; and siblings Robert. Richard, and Ozella. She is preceded in death by a son William Engel. Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Interment will occur at Susquehanna Memorial Gardens.
