Dorothy E Fullen

Dorothy Elva Fullen, 88, passed away peacefully in her home in New Freedom PA, late on August 6, 2023.

Born April 17, 1935, in Shady Valley, TN, Dorothy, being the sixth of thirteen children, was the daughter of Carl and Brookie (Wood) Sluder.

Dorothy was a Johnson County High School graduate in the class of 1953. She later went on to further her education at York College where she graduated with an Associate’s Degree in Business Management in 1985. She worked many years at Westinghouse as a Manufacturing Line Supervisor. She enjoyed motorcycle rides with her husband, Dennis, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was an active member in her church for many years, and loved sharing the Gospel with whoever would listen. She loved sewing, quilting, and especially going on adventures with her sisters known as Sister Trips.

Dorothy is survived by husband, W Dennis Fullen of New Freedom PA; son, Jeffrey Slagle of New Freedom PA; granddaughter, Charity Slagle of New Freedom PA; grandchildren, Matt and Christa Forse of Yoe, PA; grandchildren, Rebecca and John Nicklas of York, PA; great-grandsons, Mason and Logan of York, PA; sister, Marion “Dee” Behrens of New Freedom PA; brother, Bill Sluder of Bristol, TN; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by both parents; sons, Eugene “Eddie”, Daniel “Danny”, and Dennis Slagle; as well as eleven brothers and sisters.

A public viewing will be held at Hartenstein Funeral Home, 24 N Second St, New Freedom PA 17349, on Monday August 14th, 2023 from 9-11AM. A funeral service will begin at 11AM at the funeral home. The graveside service will follow at Susquehanna Memorial Gardens, 250 Chestnut Hill Rd, York, PA 17402, with the luncheon following shortly after at Christ Lutheran Church, 105 S Main St, Shrewsbury, PA 17361. Pastor Michael Knott will officiate.
