Dorothy I. Jackson

Dorothy I. Jackson, 100, of York passed away Friday, January 8, 2021 at her residence. She was the wife of the late Estle W. Jackson. Born in Hopewell Twp., PA she was a daughter of the late Homer and Sarah (Wright) Hess. Dorothy was a presser with the former Stewartstown Mfg. Co. and the former Charles Shanbarger Canning Co. and former Tool and Engineering in Red Lion. Dorothy was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 455 in Stewartstown and former member of the VFW Auxiliary Post 7046 and the Stewartstown Senior Center. She is survived by three daughters Virginia L. Jackson, Karen S. Tracey and longtime companion Robert Gowland, Jr. and Brenda I., wife of Duke Joines; 9 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; two sisters Leona Kinard and Peryl McDonald. Dorothy was preceded in death by a son Larry R. Jackson, one daughter Judy L. Tracey; 3 brothers and 1 sister. Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 14, 2021 at 11:00 am from Grace Chapel Fellowship, 2323 Plank Rd. Stewartstown, PA 17363 with Rev. David W. Burk officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining church cemetery. A viewing will be held from 10am until the time of her service at the church.
