Dorothy Sue Vines passed away peacefully at her home in Stewartstown on July 6th, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on October 14, 1942 in Temple, Texas to the late William and Anna (Boone) Lewis. Dorothy worked in retail sales for both Rutter’s and Houston’s during her younger years and eventually became a caregiver in the home health care field, which was a perfect fit for her.She was passionate about the mountains of Tennessee and enjoyed bus trips with the senior center, where they would go to the casinos for fun with the slots. Dorothy was a member of the VFW and American Legion and was also involved in her church, St. John’s Sadlers Lutheran.She was an active member of her church choir, loved Gospel and Bluegrass Music and enjoyed making candy with the her church family. Dorothy is survived by her loving children; Thelma A. Blake and her husband, Dan, Norman Keith Lewis and his companion, Lynn Muick, Jack William Lewis and his companion, Christina Pinkston; her adoring grandchildren, Matthew Markland, and his companion, Tami Giammona, Daniel Blake and his wife, Kerrie, Elijah Lewis and Isabelle Lewis; one beloved great grandchild, Kenna L. Blake; and her dear sister, Nancy C. Fisher of Shrewsbury. Dorothy was preceded in death by her daughter, Elizabeth A. Lewis and two sisters, Lola Dutton and Lucretia Lewis (infant). A public viewing will be held on Monday July 12th, from 10:00 am -11:00 am at the Stewartstown Location of Hartenstein’s, with a Funeral Service beginning at 11:00 am.Interment will immediately follow the funeral service at St. John’s Sadlers Lutheran Church Cemetery, 2916 Sadlers Church Rd. Stewartstown, PA 17363. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
