Dorothy Berlet Warfield passed away on Friday, August 19, 2022. She was the beloved wife of John E. Warfield, who predeceased her in 2005. She was born Jan. 19, 1927, in Baltimore, MD and is survived by her daughter, Meredith Maslak and her husband, Tom; and 2 granddaughters, Amy and Alyson.
She was a graduate of the Robert E. Lee Junior High School 49 and Eastern High School in 1943. After marrying John in 1948, they lived in Catonsville, MD for 35 years. She was an Elder in the Catonsville Presbyterian Church and president of the Women’s Association and Church School Superintendent. Dorothy was also active in the Rollingwood Garden Club for over 50 years. She and her husband attended over 20 elder hostel programs. After moving to Pennsylvania, she volunteered over 2000 hours at York Hospital, was a docent at New Freedom Railroad Station, a greeter at SpiriTrust Nursing Facility, and became a Deacon at Stewartstown Presbyterian Church. Dorothy enjoyed reading, lunches out, big-band music, and visiting Stone Harbor, New Jersey.
Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, September 24, at 11 AM at the Stewartstown Presbyterian Church, 14 College Ave, Stewartstown, PA 17363. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to McKim Community Assoc., Inc., addressed to Coach Garfield Thompson, The McKim Center, 1120 E. Baltimore St., Baltimore, MD 21202.
