Dorothy Ethel (Werder) Wurston

Dorothy Ethel (Werder) Wurston, 92, of Stewartstown, PA, formerly of Long Island, NY passed away on Saturday, June 3, 2023. She was a loving wife of the late George R. Wurston of 63 years, loving mother of George Robert Wurston and Dorothy Ann DeRuiter, wife of Kenneth; loving grandmother of Neil, Mark, and Jaime DeRuiter, and two great grandchildren Anna and William. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by parents, George C. and Gertrude (Landman) Werder, and her sister Gertrude Szepinski. As a young woman, Dorothy worked for the NY Telephone Co., living in Long Island until her husband’s retirement in 1987. Together they lived in various states, enjoying each of them before settling in Stewartstown in 2007. Dorothy enjoyed traveling the country and in her younger years, she loved to decorate. Family and friends are invited to a viewing on Saturday, June 10, 2023 from 2:00 -4:00PM at Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc., 19 S. Main Street, Stewartstown, PA. A Funeral Service will follow on Saturday, beginning at 4:00 P.M. Donations in Dorothy’s memory may be made to the charity of your choice.
