Dottie L. Dell, 95, of Parkton, MD, went to be with her Lord on October 29, 2020, while surrounded by her family.Born on her homestead in Cumberland Furnace, TN to Lewis E. and Olevia (Puckett) Adkins, where she finished 10th grade. Preceded in death by her husband, David E. and son, David L. Dell, her parents Lewis E. Adkins and Olevia P. Adkins and 9 brothers and sisters. Survived by a daughter Pamela Kernan and husband Joseph, grandchildren Jennifer (Gene), De De (Tom), Erin (Ken), Kristin (Kalani), Kimberly, and Kaitlin, great-grandchildren Noel, Holly, Kaia, Kamryn, Matthew,, Andrew, Kayden, Kiana, and Kilikina,sister Madeline Almony (Ed), daughter- in- law Donna Jean, and many beloved nieces and nephews and her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law from the Dell side. Rosie the Riveter, built bombers during WWII, was a life member and very active until her second stroke with Hereford EMS Ambulance. She and her husband, Dave, ran Dell’s Garage in Parkton during the 1960’s. She is remembered for her love of baking and crafts, for various church, ambulance and fire fundraising events, hosting and caring for her grandchildren and their summers, camping with grandma and grandpa, going on field trips, homework help, attending performances, games, graduations, and more of the daily tasks that she and her husband were present for. The legacy she created and love of family passed down will live on in those who knew and loved her. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, November 3, 2020 at 1:30p.m. at Mt. Zion United Methodist Cemetery, Freeland, MD with her pastor, Rev. Dennis Schulze that it is open to family and friends; we ask that you please wear a mask and socially distance.
